Who We Are

The process to reach our Heart & Soul Values

The Orton Family Community Heart & Soul program is a grassroots, resident-driven process that aims to engage residents to identify what they love most about their community, what future they want for it, and how they hope to achieve this vision. Based on three powerful principles - involve everyone, focus on what matters, and play the long game - Community Heart & Soul is a four-phase process that brings residents together to help shape the future of their township.

Phase ONE: Lay the groundwork

  • Heart and Soul teams are formed to build awareness, interest, and commitment. Identify who lives in Upper Chichester and develop a communication strategy to engage residents.

Phase TWO: Explore the community

  • Discover what residents love about where they live and identify common hopes and aspirations to discover what matters most to this community.

Phase THREE: Make decisions

  • Decide which ideas best reflect what matters most and create a plan that ensures action, both now and in the future.

Phase FOUR: TAKE ACTION!

  • The real work of Community Heart & Soul begins in Phase 4: Take Action. This is when the Heart & Soul teams and partnering organizations implement the developed plans, changing the way the township takes action by putting resident engagement at the center of decision-making.

Volunteers are invited to share their time, skills, and passion to help strengthen connections, support local initiatives, and bring community values into action.

Local businesses can get involved by partnering with the community to support economic opportunity, collaboration, and a vibrant Upper Chichester.

Residents are encouraged to share ideas and suggestions that reflect what they value most and help shape the future of the community.
